Congratulations on being selected as a finalist in a 2025 Play It Strange competition!
Below is some information on studios, engineers, and producers we have worked with in the past that we recommend for recording your song. You can use any studio you like even if they are not on this list, but this is intended to help you decide who you want to work with based on location, genre, and instrumentation.
Please note:
- If you wish to go to a recording studio not in your region, we do not cover the cost of transport or accommodation.
- We cover the cost of one full day of recording, up to the value of $800 + GST. If you choose to use a studio/engineer that is not on this list, you must make sure they are happy with this fee before confirming your session.
- Filling out the studio booking form is essential, even if you are choosing a studio that is not on this list. We will send this information to the studio and introduce you via email. From there, you will be responsible for all communication to the studio, including finalising the time/date and all session details. This is so you can gain experience communicating with a recording studio!
